JLCT

JLCT (Japanese Language Capability Test) is a standardized test designed to measure the practical Japanese language skills of non-native speakers, especially for communication in daily life, academic settings, and workplaces in Japan. It is often used by students and workers who plan to study, work, or migrate to Japan.
Purpose of JLCT
- Assess real-life Japanese usage.
- Evaluate candidates for education, job placement, and visa eligibility.
- Provide language proof for entry into Japanese language schools or institutions.
JLCT Test Levels
JLCT is divided into five levels, similar to JLPT:
- JCT1 – Advanced (equivalent to JLPT N1)
- JCT2 – Upper Intermediate (equivalent to N2)
- JCT3 – Intermediate (equivalent to N3)
- JCT4 – Lower Intermediate (equivalent to N4)
- JCT5 – Basic (equivalent to N5)

- Kanji Understanding
Exam Schedule
- Conducted multiple times a year (usually 5 times: Jan, Mar, May, Jul, and Nov).
